So here’s a funny one, in Esther, Haman was an Agagite. Agag was a descendant of Amalek, who was an Edomite.
Im not seeing any good records of the cause for this, but in One Night With the King, Haman seems to be associated with a snake-identified group of Hashashin.
Xerxes may have called him a Macedonian Spy, due to his insistence on causing civil war within Persia between the Jews and the Persians.
Tradition tells us that after Haman was hanged, Zeresh fled in disgrace with his surviving 70 sons, reduced to begging from door to door.
You must remember that Mordechai is a Jew. If you try to kill him with a sword, know that Pharaoh attempted to decapitate Moses and failed. If you wish to stone him, remember how David slew Goliath with stones. If you try to drown him, remember how G‑d tore the sea before Israel. If you want to exile him to the desert, remember how Israel wandered in the desert for forty years and thrived. Joseph was released from jail and became the viceroy. Chananya, Mishael and Azarya went out from a fiery furnace, and Daniel left the lion’s den. Don’t try to blind him; remember how many people Samson killed whilst sightless. There is one remaining way for you: hang Mordechai on a tree.
Not satisfied with simply advising, Zeresh went with her husband to find the tallest tree in Shushan, which turned out to be quite a thorny specimen.
The Edomites were, I think, related to or descended from the Canaanites/Phoenicians, who even the Romans had to deal with later, and were all about destroying Israel and seem to have been all about binding God’s righteousness.
The serpent beguiled Eve?
Did these same people infiltrate “Israel” to try and create a bind to destroy them?
Have “our” wars been to attack them from within the chaos where it could happen without being noticed?
