So a little background, the Doomsday clock was first proposed by the Bulletin of Atomic Scientists after World War II. The idea is that the positioning of the minute hand represents how close humanity is to global catastrophe. Based on geopolitical affairs that include the likes of risk of nuclear war, climate change, and biological warfare, contrasting against peace accords and nuclear disarmament, the clock's minute hand has either moved closer or further away to midnight each time it's been reset. As of now, the minute hand is at 90 seconds to midnight, which is the closest it's ever been. The reasoning:

This was in January 2023. More and more countries entering the Israel-Arab conflict as well as the continuation of the Russia-Ukraine war, as well as the threat of a China-Taiwan war, as well as the perceived weakness of the United States as leader under the Biden administration, excluding the Climate Change and Covid psyops tells me that the next time the bulletin is published in January 2024, the clock will strike midnight.
