Well yeah. They have a tendency to spontaneously burst into flames once wet. Or if the Battery has been damaged at all. It’d be an expensive proposition to ensure a fleet of rolling matchboxes
That’s not even factoring in the fact that mechanics with the know-how to work on them competently are comparatively rarer then normal mechanics.
Which adds its own costs.
And the fact that the replacement batteries cost more than a new mid-sized car.
And even some body repairs require the battery removed, one Rivian owner was quoted $40,000 for a minor collision repair.
The battery cars cause parking ramps to collapse.
Baffling.
