Simvastatin is known for causing all sorts of ligament, tendon and joint issues. I was on it for years and had all those symptoms right down to plantar fasciaitis. I switched to rosuvastatin (sp) and I've been fine. I wanted to get off that, as all my values are normal, but my cardiologist, who believes in minimal medicine said "no es bueno" because I have 2 stents. Supposedly acts as a lube for the stents.
