Back in the pre internet days, a prophet would make a prediction about the end of the world or some cataclysmic event, and if it didn't come true, he would lose face and people would move on. Now we have the internet. If said prediction does not come true, it then moves onto the next year and so on. In the past decade we witnessed the birth of the "delta." Not saying its not true but it does change the prediction game. If it's an anonymous source, then their prediction will come into play indefinitely into the future.
