Yes, I have seen that site and in fact it was one of the main sites I read in reviews that I based my decision on to not purchase Berkey fluoride filters.
Now let me explain why I still use Berkey filters and that site really bothers me.
I use the black carbon Berkey filters. I do not use the other addin white fluoride berkey filters.
You see? There are two different Berkey filters. The black carbon filters do not filter out fluoride nor do they claim to. That is why Berkey sells an additional addon fluoride filter that attaches to the bottom of the black carbon filter.
When you read that website and many others just like it they give you the impression Berkey "filters" are not reliable as if Berkey only makes one filter.
Berkey black filters have been tested by numerous consumer advocacy groups and they do what they claim they do. But most people don't read the sites closely and are IMO deceived into believing all Berkey filters are trash. It is not true. He even says it very briefly in passing and I suspect the vast majority of people gloss over it. Here it is in his own words:
"There was no problem with the black filter, it did not leach anything into the water and looked like it did a good job filtering. While the white filter was responsible for the increase in aluminum."
