Agreed, frogs get cooked in slow boiled water right? If they get dropped into water that’s already boiling they get.. jumpy. The jumpiness of the frog can be a metaphor for impulsive actions one might take if presented everything at once, if all the hammers dropped at the same time it would be too much of a shock, which is why I too think the plan is a slow boil
