Sorry but I'm calling bullshit. I tracked that Hurricane at landfall, and never saw ground level winds above 48 mph.

When weather service reports maximum sustained winds, that is the wind speed at above 750 m. usually around 1000 m.

Most all of Acapulco is no higher than 76m, and towns in the inland area max is around 375m.
