From y2k to today, pull up the Baker Hughes Rig Count, then look at the articles about when everyone was talking about the USA being a net energy exporter.

The amount it takes for us to get there from here isn't much but Biden has kneecapped the energy sector to stop it. When Trump unleashed them, we exported oil AND brought peace to the middle east. Coincidence?

We were a net exporter under Trump and even then we had barely touched the vast oil and gas resources of this country. There is more potential oil here than the entirety of the worlds known reserves and every drop ever drilled, combined. The untapped Colorado shales alone are thought to contain 2 trillion barrels.
