He makes a good point. But men in their 30s and 40s? How many of them are even in shape enough to fight? About 2%? We don't have men who are fighting fit in that age category these days. Heck, even the really young guys, the ones who traditionally have gone to war, are either overweight or super skinny soyboys. We literally can't go to war. 6 weeks of boot camp wouldn't be nearly enough.
I know this because my maternal grandparents had their teeth removed to dodge the draft. Both grandmother and grandfather, who were in their late 30s or early 40s I believe.
ALL were fair game if they were physically capable.
Don’t think the demonic war pigs of today won’t pull their own version of fascist Mussolini style rules
I honestly don’t remember the rationale but there were physical traits that are (were?) required for service. And being completely toothless was an easy disqualification, short of breaking or removing a limb, etc.
I recall the tearful horror stories and how this was done without any novocaine — to explain the level of sheer desperation and fear that led them to do this. Because they knew they’d die if they were forced to fight, and end up leaving my mom and her brothers orphaned

In WW2 under Mussolini, all ages were fair game.

How did pulling their teeth out avert their draft?
