I do very much wonder with these celebs that supposedly “sober up” and try to go on their book deal speaking tour that part of their agenda is to somehow get out of what they got themselves into only to realize there is no getting out and at that point you get to watch almost like a Twitter version of someone grasping at the other person as they’re being choked out. Flailing tweets trying to stave off what’s coming. I don’t think it was us, I think it was the cult eating one of its own to protect itself
Think of every child star that had massive addiction issues. It was a cry for help because they were abused, and then knew that they’d be forced to join the other side of the club — most of the ones whose parents served as their handlers didn’t feel they had a true option to leave and get out of the business. Like Britney Spears.
The ones that did escape are in the “where are they now” montages that practically mock them for losing their money and resorting to boring 9-5 or retail or construction jobs
