I will say this, my wife didn't get to do makeup/dressup as a tween and she had to do a LOT of catchup in learning to do girl things. In retrospect, she feels robbed, all it did was make her feel inadequate and unloved (by her parents) they wouldn't even help with leg shaving so she could join swim club in high school..
