Batman is a good guy, an imperfect vigilante that goes after those who need to be brought to justice. Maybe he's still alive and being protected and will testify at some point.

My overall thought was he had a myocarditis attack, slumped down into the jacuzzi and found that way. Only way to tell is if there was water in the lungs or not.
