So a txt asking to support Mike Johnson is sent out & 1% of the donation is suggested to go towards Mike!
To be fair, this year is the first round of messages I have seen go out that allow for your to "allocate" who funds go to. Who knows if the funds really will go to the individuals instead of the national organizations.
It makes me wonder if this has been the historical split?
edit: No wonder they fall short, if that marketing pitch is true.
Wow that's pathetic. Them showing the split like that is a giant red pill in itself. It's like donating to some such "cancer awareness fund" that's really a grift and 99% of the funds go to administrative costs.
Same with some retail places that go, "would you like to round up your total to the next dollar and donate the change to cause xyz to save the children." I'm like, "no thanks, I hear those kids are already dead."
I haven't seen the split thing before but yeah I'm spammed multiple times daily despite having unsubscribed and blocking numbers, another from the same campaign shows up later. Nikki Haley is especially obnoxious with ignoring attempts to unsubscribe.
It certainly can. Though how many years has the split been this way & not adjustable?
Also how many would even click the button/box to adjust the donation. It was hidden until I clicked on something to go deeper.
I would not have been suprised at a 90/10 split & most would rightfully be upset that only 10% of their donation to a candidate would support the candidate. I was amazed that the candidate got 10% of my initial guess.

Yep and sheep don't get it when I tell them why I stay out of office campaigns to get everyone donating to <insert CEOs favorite charity>.

Just waiting for someone to take that bait, it would be entertaining to see that lesson.
I was really suprised. I wouldn't have been suprised at a 90:10 split (which is terrible still) though a 99:1 is atrocious.

I quit trying to stop the texts, I just delete without looking at the full text.
I wonder if class action lawsuits against "unsubscribed" politicians & campaigns is the right choice?
This is great advice for everyone.
Look for another way to donate than online. It's too easy to get scammed.
Agreed.
When they started splitting the donations, I stopped donating. I've seen the split for a couple of years now.
I can't imagine they haven't been splitting them before now, it is just giving a choice (maybe an illusion of choice) where the money goes.
Can you change the split to give .35 to the RNC and 34.65 to Mike Johnson? It looks like the amt can be edited.
