I think all government employees should be restricted from bearing false witness, and all lies, including supporting the lie of another or being silent in the face of a lie by another.
Then, in a 2020 ruse, police in Seattle falsely claimed in radio broadcasts that armed members of the Proud Boys, a right-wing men’s group, were gathering during the "occupied" Capitol Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) at the height of the Black Lives Matter protests. The dispatches caused panic among some protesters, some of whom armed themselves in response, according to The Seattle Times, citing another report by the OPA.
TLDR: The Cops upset a A Hit and Run Driver with a lie in an effort to get him to turn himself in. The Driver didn’t and later killed himself because of his guilty conscience. As he thought he ended up killing someone. Even though it was a minor crash with no injuries beyond a hit to the other drivers wallet and insurance to fix the car he hit.
And they scared the absolute shit outta lefty Protesters that technically were engaged in shenanigans one a step or two below legitimate insurrection.
About the only one I could see an issue with. At least from a Moral/Ethical Perspective. Would be the hit and run guy.
Frankly I’d think the City Government priority would be the rising crime rates and filth in the streets first. Instead of worrying about “Ruse” tactics. Which may as well just be called psychological warfare instead of the innocuous name. As that is in essence what it amounts to.
In Seattle, a lie is called a ruse ...

TIL that police use deliberate lies and call it "ruse tactic" shake my head
I think it is about time. you be honest with me, I will be honest with you.
