I'm re-posting this. It was posted a couple of days ago here by Starsbottomleft. I am re-posting, hoping that a better title will get better visibility and more discussion. I personally see this as an end to the need for community colleges, and a significant blow to 4-year universities. Basically large universities only up-sell would be Master's level degrees. It seems that this would make a zero barrier to entry for educational tracks, and would crush the financial machine that pushes debt on younger generations. I think there are lots of questions to ask here, but I find this very hopeful.
I'm sure that President Trump means well, but I think this is a horrible idea.
We should be trying to get the government out of the education system, not adding on to it.
If this plan ever gets implemented, the Dems will use it as a springboard to get ALL colleges and universities involved. Once the government pays for one college/university, it will be impossible to stop people from demanding we pay for ALL of them.
It's a slippery slope. Best that we keep the government out of the education system entirely.
I think you're right in that it is a slippery slope. The last thing any of us should want is for the government to subsidize education onto citizens through taxation. I don't quite see the full picture myself, but something has to end debt slavery that allows control and manipulation of younger generations that aren't able grasp what they are stepping into. On some level, if the Great Awakening carries through, there has to be a reform of Education. It still seems like there are lots of questions.
