There are definitely people in America who don't get enough food.

But it's nowhere near 50% of the population.

There is no reason to be all melodramatic about it. When you make silly statements like that, which is obviously not even close to being correct, you lose credibility. And for what? Just to be dramatic?

"Low quality and low effort" is entirely subjective. Just because a post doesn't appeal to a mod doesn't mean that others won't be interested in it.

The attitude towards posts and bans here is just all over the place. Mods complain that people don't post enough, but then complain that there are too many "low effort and low quality" posts. It just feels like you view people here as sources of free labor to churn out material to boost GAWs rankings.

And it's a bit nutty to constantly ban people for minor infractions, or because they believe differently than you and then complain that there aren't enough people making posts or interacting in the comments. If you want more activity on the forum, maybe lay off banning people for a bit.

I completely understand the need for mods. No one wants to have to wade through dozens of posts about cures for Erectile Dysfunction. But perhaps the mods should do some self-reflection and be more mindful if they're banning someone for the good of the forum or if it's because they personally disagree with the post.

I think it's because so few people go to banks now. With direct deposit and ATMs for cash, there goes the majority of reasons people use bank branches.

Most people do virtually all of their banking online now.

It's been a couple of years since I went into a bank, and that was because I needed quarters.

Ok. Why are people giving me lectures on being overweight?

I'm not ridiculing overweight people. I'm pointing out that the person who said half of America is starving is being ridiculous.

Just because I point out that they exist doesn't mean I'm speaking negatively about them.

I'm not picking on overweight people. I'm pointing out that the "half of America is starving" bit is complete nonsense.

All of you who are getting your panties in a twist, saying that lowering interest rates before an election is a shady thing to do, need to pay more attention to what is going on. And maybe take some ginkgo biloba to help your memory.

The Fed lowered interest rates to almost zero right before the pandemic hit. And Trump was pushing them to give us a negative interest rate. No one remembers that?

Interest rates already being close to zero made it more difficult to jump-start the economy after the pandemic.

Where are these starving Americans? Because I'm not seeing them anywhere. In fact, I'm seeing the exact opposite. The majority of Americans are overweight.

Hyperbole isn't helpful.

No, people didn't always think it was a 16 year plan. Just go look through some of the old posts here. Hell, look at some of the new posts here.

I think most anons think something BIG will be happening any day now. And that's been the attitude at least since 2020 when I first learned about Q.

Which makes it all the more confusing that Trump and other Republicans are changing their tune about mail in voting.

The closer the election gets, the more you hear them talk about how we shouldn't rely on in person, day of voting.

This is what Trump said in a speech back in March of this year:

"Republicans must compete using every lawful means to win. That means swamping the left with mail-in votes, early votes and Election Day votes. Have to do it. We have to change our thinking.”

I don't think the mixed messages will be helping anything. They need to pick a stance and stick with it.

Why do you think we wouldn't win a civil war?

CallMeAl 5 points ago +5 / -0

We're going to have to find one, eventually. Trump isn't going to live forever. And even if his age wasn't a factor, he can only serve one more term.

Interesting. Especially the numerology thing. I know that's really popular here. Along with the FE people, who get banned. And the "JFK Jr is still alive!" people.

Sometimes I think I'm the only one who doesn't believe that Trump is still CIC.

How can people ignore all the failures that Trump would have caused since 2020, if he really WAS still CIC?

Like that nightmare of pulling out in Afghanistan? Or working with Ukraine, getting them weapons and money and troops?

I wasn't aware that Newsmax was teamed up with the Human Rights Campaign. I just did a quick search on it, and couldn't find anything. Do you know any place I can look to find more info on it?

And I have no idea why they would list one business for teaming up with HRC, but not another.

CallMeAl 3 points ago +3 / -0

Obviously, they meant "whose" instead of "who's".

If that confused you, I don't know how you get through all the posts where "your" and "you're" are used interchangeably.

And then there is the "their", "there", and "they're" issue.

What happened to all that "business interference" with watchdog groups calling for boycotts on groups because of their politics?

So when watchdog groups call for advertisers to leave Twitter/X over Musk's politics, that's illegal interference with someone's business, but when this watchdog group urges people to boycott these businesses because of their politics, that's ok?

Really?

No, I don't believe polls. Not even when they say things I want to hear. It's obnoxious when people ignore or mock polls that oppose their views, but as soon as they see a poll that they like, it's suddenly as sacred as the Bible.

I honestly haven't paid much attention as to who wins what if whatever group votes a certain way. I tried to do a little research into the 10%+ of votes thing, but I didn't come up with much. Do you have anything that shines some light on that?

I'm not saying you're wrong. Just that I haven't found anything about it, specifically. And since you already know about it, you're the best person to ask for help in finding out more about it. Thanks.

That means 80% would NOT support him. I don't see how this is a huge win.

1
CallMeAl 1 point ago +1 / -0

Ok, so who is controlling the "Biden" we have now?

1
CallMeAl 1 point ago +1 / -0

Exactly. I hate it when people automatically assume a ruling will be judged a certain way just because of who appointed the judge.

It's just lazy and stupid.

Trump is a time traveler and JFK Jr AND JFK (now 106 years old!) both faked their deaths but they're still alive and are huge Trump fans now (not sure why, because they were both lifelong democrats before they died) John John will be the new VP are some of the wackiest things I've seen repeated here time and time again.

I don't think FE is any sillier than those ideas. Not sure why they're allowed to flourish. The "JFK Jr. is still alive and will be Trump's VP" bit is something that people constantly mock us for.

If the point trying to be made is that normies are turned off being red-pilled because of what they consider "silly" conspiracies, flat Earth is not the only one they consider "silly". Not by far.

Just because the mods here have a particular dislike of flat earth doesn't make FE any more "silly" in the minds of normies than any other conspiracies.

I'm sure if you went around to other groups that concerned "conspiracy theories", depending on the personal beliefs of the mods in each, you could re-use that meme and just switch out the subject of the second panel with any of the conspiracies listed in the first panel, and it would go over just as well.

For example, I used to chat in a group that didn't mind flat earthers, but they absolutely despised people who believed in past lives.

Just to be clear, I'm not a FE believer. So there's no need to try to convince me I'm wrong about that.

I just think it's silly that FE has been selected to be ridiculed here when there have been some really wacky ass conspiracies welcomed with open arms
