If I read the language of Issue 1 correctly in Ohio, abortion would be written into the constitution of the state.
Proponents argue that this takes the issue of abortion out of the hands of state lawmakers, which apparently it does. It also takes away the rights of the father.
No where do I read within the amendment anything about the rights of the father of the child. It takes two to tango. The way I read this, the amendment gives full control to the female and absolutely zero rights to male who helped create the baby.
Am I understanding this correctly?
I believe you are correct. It's designed to be an end-run around any future limits on abortion, for any woman, at any point in the pregnancy, including any minors without parental notification. PLEASE VOTE NO, OHIO!
