I had a two day surgery the end of Sept. Before I went in I was asked about transfusions. My husband wanted me to say yes, even though both of us are unjabbed and I was leery about signing on to it. No way I was able to bank blood ahead of time bc the hospital I used was two hours away from my home. So I reluctantly agreed to the transfusion. I even asked the doctor if there were any checks to see if there is mRNA in the blood supply. He didn't know.
The first day I was under the knife the neurosurgeon hit a vein and he couldn't stop the bleeding without calling in a Vascular Surgeon to find the leak and cauterize it. Needless to say I was given a transfusion. Not only that day but the second day, too, even though my hubby said I sprung no leaks.
I ended up two 1/2 days in the ICU. Had to have platelets the 3rd day. The whole blood transfusion upset my blood chemistry and I also had to have magnisium drips on day 4 and 5.
Day 6 I had a cardiac event with a brief defib for a second or two. Heart monitor was on due to having a Left Branch Bundle Block diagnosed in 2021. Normally I wouldn't have had a heart monitor after leaving the ICU. I never felt a thing but ended up having all kinds of tests done that turned up normal. In spite of that a Cardiologist at the hospital put me on a low dose of Toprol to regulate my heart.
I was supposed to stand up with PT but blood pressure was so low I got faint and ended up in Rehab for another week. On day 6 before I went to rehab I had to have a nasal swab for COVID. My virgin nose is no longer a virgin. If I had tested positive or refused it I would not have been admitted to the rehab center in the hospital. So two weeks I ended up in that hospital One week in regular hospital and a second week in rehab before being able to go home.
While there I contracted a bladder infection that I am still trying to rid. I may end up back in the hospital since I am on my third antibiotic and it is probably antibiotic resistant. Had some meds from hospital but it didn't work. Went to urgent care and they gave me an injection and a different antibiotic to try.
Thanks for asking. How did your’s go? Mine’s been coming along. I am in PT but mostly doing stuff while laying on my back. Had a difficult surgery. I still have quite a bit of nerve pain. But it’s improving. I have to take injections every day of bone growth (Tymlos) bc my bones were so soft. Also have a bone stimulator I wear every day for two hours. Hoping I actually will grow some bone over the fusion. Have to see my neurosurgeon next Monday and I am hoping I won’t have to wear this huge solid plastic clamshell with a hinge and a section that wraps around my when I go out. It’s pretty much keeping me home except to go to OT bc it is hard to walk with it on normally. And I may have picked up an antibiotic resistant UTI in the hospital that I’m on a third antibiotic. If it doesn’t work I need to go back into a hospital again to try an IV drip.
I have nerve issues following surgery as well. Also using the bone stimulator machine daily lol. I had a multi drug resistant bladder infection a few years ago - keep eye on it - I ended up in hospital for a week with sepsis - was more fun than I could stand lol. I had horrible back braces years ago with the first fusion - I don't envy you that huge ass brace.

So now I am probably no longer a pure blood.
How is your back doing? We had talked a few months ago, prior to either of us having surgery? I hope you are better.

Dear Lord, I am so sorry. I cannot tell you how sad I am to see this but it's very normal because I am seeing this a lot working in hospital.
Appreciate your info.
I would pray and ask God to help but if you have to do that, I am quite sure now your blood contained some bad shit.
