Space news is often comms, because the stories are fantastical, about astronomical bodies (that can be interpreted astrologically) and although there may be photos, even those are unverifiable.

So mythology is often woven in to add 'color' - hence 'devil's horns'. Extra scary I am sure.

It makes such stories ripe for alt meanings, which may well be their intention.

In which case - does it mean that the DS actors are planning an extra nasty attack, by sprouting some evil horns? Comets traditionally were interpreted as harbingers of doom and catastrophic change.
