Besides the obvious answer, movies are too busy leeching off each other. There is too much trend following. Movies several decades ago were trying to tell new stories rather than repackaging old ones. Modern movies are getting stale, offering nothing new, so people just ignore them.
You are spot on the dot, fren.
Modern movies are not "original" anymore,
People want something new, something great, something truly memorable they can watch with a visible smile on their face in excitement and anticipation of an unforgettable experience!
They have always copied, always. Someone has an original idea and its done to death over a number of years.
Yeah it’s kinda wild. Put all hatred of actors aside: there is like 10 fast and furious, 7 mission impossible?, a million Star Wars, a million Harry potters, a million super hero spinoffs.
It’s like the only hit movies now are just riding the same wave and it’s starting to fade.
I will say the 8 or 10 episode season shows are doing well and much more entertaining. Things like Yellowstone, Jack reacher, etc. I think that style will best movies out because you can only fit so much in a couple hours and no book really fits well into a single movie.
Have you noticed all the big time "movie stars" are now everywhere doing commercials? That should tell you that Hollyweird is dead.
