Solar superstorm could 'wipe out the internet' for weeks or months, scientist says

We may marvel at the Northern Lights, but that same solar storm energy could one day create what one researcher described as an "internet apocalypse."

But there is still ham radio, packet radio, and other ways. Always keep extra electronics unattached and in a Faraday cage. Being unattached from the electricity and antennas is enough for a solar EMP, but a Faraday cage is necessary to protect from a nuclear EMP.

"They" might do a nuclear EMP and claim it's solar, but I have some extra equipment unconnected but uncovered just so I will know which it really is. Also, I get solar alerts from a source in Australia.
