The IT news portal Heise Online warns against using the new free Microsoft Outlook. There is a risk of losing access data to e-mail accounts.

You should use a desktop for email and store the emails on your own hard drive. That's what I've done since 1989, and haven't lost a single one yet. Backups on your own hardware is the way to go.
