House passes a stopgap bill to avert a government shutdown

The bill now heads to the Senate, which is expected to pass it ahead of Friday's deadline. It will keep the government funded through early next year while Congress debates spending.

336 to 95. More Democrats supported the measure than Republicans. 93 republicans opposed the bill, while there were only 2 no votes from democrats
