John Hopkins, along with many other renowned hospitals, have dug themselves into graves from which I hope they NEVER climb out. We saw it also during Covid, when families and/or patient advocates were denied entry to the bedside of loved ones during their hospital stay and sometimes during their final hours on earth. We heard of patient and family wishes being ignored regarding use of remdesevir and ventilators. Bill O’Reilly also highlighted a case of child kidnapping by Boston Children’s’ Hospital. I pray that John Hopkins pays up and does not appeal after all they have put this family through. If they do appeal, I pray the compensation is doubled, not that it will bring back the mother/spouse or right all the wrongs done to this family. The arrogance of big institutions is beyond belief and until they are crippled financially or lose their license to practice, nothing will change.

You don't address individual accountability. People consciously decided this outcome and they need to pay.
Very true, but most likely the hospital will cover for them, rather than them being charged with false imprisonment, assault, etc.
