Rosalynn Carter, former first lady and tireless humanitarian, dies at 96

Carter devoted herself to several social causes in the course of her public life, including programs that supported health care resources, human rights, social justice and the needs of elderly people.

Carter claimed to be a Christian, yet never spoke out against abortion; I could never reconcile that, once I became a Christian myself. He had the opportunity, as President, to speak out against the most evil industry in the world (child sex trafficking arguably worse), but never did. As far as I know, I don't even think he said something like "personally, I think abortion is wrong, but...". I personally believe a person's views on abortion is DIRECTLY proportional to their Christian maturity; somewhat of a litmus test of their salvation. It's possible to think abortion is ok when you first become a Christian (like I did), but if you haven't matured in your faith to where you abhor it for the evil it is, then I believe your salvation may be on very thin ground.

Can't argue that logic, nor would I. He had his faults and today as we look back, we understand how controlled he and many others were. Evil is evil.
