The entire AI INDUSTRY/HYPE is bullshit. Their implication is of some mysterious amorphous God-like Wisdom theoretically somehow SELF-GENERATED by theoretical cosmic computers. Again I say "bullshit", pretty much quite as you've already stated here.
Computers do what they're told (and/or allowed) to do BY HUMANS, PERIOD.
