Yes, I am aware of that. They even referred to the 'commune' which led to the term communist. I am just objecting to the singling out of the Jacobins, there were many groups - and yes, they started murdering each other, so it is hard to determine who was at fault. Arguably, it had something to do with the huge donations from the King to the American project, which impoverished the French people. Foreign Aid anyone? The similarities are easy to find.

But if we are gonna look for weird roots like that, try this one:

In 1715 the Pirate community living in Nassau declared it a democratic republic, complete with a constitution. Historians claim that it was the prototype of the American Declaration of Independence.

So, even as Piracy was legal/ and then not-legal, and they argued amongst themselves whether to attack British ships (the American and Irish pirates wanted to, but the English did not) and robbed each other at sea, they came to an agreement about one man, one vote etc. Is USA a pirate Republic, seeing as they modelled it after Nassau?

The founding fathers certainly were aware of the pirates and their Republic. How could they not? Seeing as those ships sailed all up and down the Eastern seaboard. Then, of course there was the Boston tea Party in 1773. Was that an act of Piracy? Maybe. Justified of course. I mean, the Kings over there were not even English - they were German.
