The left has this core of radicals, of activists, that's not concerned about the next election or viewership. It's very long term focused.
With the right, especially in the US, it's not an activist core that's setting the agenda, it's like media personalities, like Fox News, and their priority isn't like what's going to be the policy agenda in 20 years, it's ratings. When your goal is just entertainment and viewership, things are always shifting leftwards because they're driven by a radical core, and that's the fundamental problem with the right, they don't have that."
