I think criticisms of Pompeo got muddied by the usual arguments made that were literally boiled down to "He was CIA", especially due to his relatively brief time as such.

I didn’t even know he was CIA when I first came back to politics .. I left after 911, tv went off , Bush’s pic came down from my desk and I turned my back on all of them . it didn’t know much before that . Anyway , my first introduction to Pompeo was .. there’s something bad about this guy .. it got worse from there . Now because so much is crazy , there may come a day where he gets the academy award ,, time will tell lol
