I read some news that Bezos was getting into the real estate business and got to thinking that any sane person would realize they have enough and there is no logical reason to acquire more wealth.
Searching the internet I was sure I would find an official classification for this derangement labeled by the medical establishment as a type of disorder but I found no such thing. The closest was maybe "narcissism." They do consider paranoia: a general distrust of others, as a personality disorder (it means your passing attention).
Anyways, I think all the money hungry billionaires would not like to be labeled as having a disorder so we pretend it doesn't exist. If it was accepted that they were batshit crazy, would people still seek their advice on pharma, climate change and general biology? Probably less so.
It's called being a hoarder with a strong proclivity to sadistic tendencies.
If you look up hoarder it makes a point of stressing the messy, cluttered aspect. I'm guessing the billionaires aren't recognized as having a mental disorder by the American psychiatric group or whatever they're called. They are generally referred to as "successful."
