Speaking of Hanks, i watched Polar Express for the first time recently not realizing that the conductor was hanks. Found out afterwards. Sad. Good movie, too.
He does the voice of the conductor, the main hero boy's dad, Santa, the ghost on the train, and the boy himself as a grown up.
Like you I also really loved the movie. Sure it looks a little strange but honestly it never bothered me. The idea of believing in the miracles and magic of Christmas was always a really great idea, and how the hero boy struggles with his belief in it and Santa. It's almost like the struggle of faith and deciding whether or not to believe in God or Christ even if we've never seen them. But even if we've never seen them, we've seen their actions in our lives through things like miracles both big and small. The hero boy goes through the same thing with Santa and Christmas.
Aside from creepy Tom Hanks making up like half of the cast, the movie has a really interesting message. Too bad one of the biggest pedos to ever exist is in it. I also have the same trouble re-watching any of the Toy Story movies because he voices Woody, even though I loved those movies growing up and still think they're some of the best. Again, it's sad that all of these things have to be tainted by terrible people.
You know, Hollywood remakes movies all the time, adding wokeism to the movies. If they can do it, why can't we? Polar Express but with a different cast.
I would say, “Shit now I have to rewatch it!” But I can’t stomach T.Hanks anymore.
This.
