Smart people ted to be really good at both using and picking up on sarcasm, less smart people tend to be really good at completely missing the point or taking it at face value...

Smart people often use what they want people to believe said in an overtly sarcastic tone to make them believe it, the tone confuses and distracts in the moment but with time only what is said is retained and the 'they're just bullshitting' gets lost in the confusion of the sarcasm churn....
