The conservative instinct seems to lean towards preserving the status quo. When I look around at the world today, I really don't see much that's even worth preserving. It's a sad thing to admit after all that our ancestors had to go through to get to this point, but it seems like the modern world we've created ended up being a huge mistake. It's like we've thrown away the essential parts of life in exchange for lots of inessentials.
Families don't work anymore. The whole social structure is uprooted and turned against itself. We're obsessed with competition and selfishness. It's not normal or good imo. At least the collapse offers an opportunity to correct these mistakes
Humanity as a whole has been living blindfolded without even knowing the true nature of our reality. Almost nothing we see around us reflects who humans really are, but rather what they do when they have been manipulated from the day they are born.
Amidst all this, we still see people who are wholesome and actions which are pure, just imagine what Humanity will be when the blindfold is removed.
If there was nothing salvageable, there would not have been the small minority of folks, even within the "enlightened elite" who have been diligently fighting the Evil and setting the stage for the freeing of Human minds, aka, Great Awakening.
