Dont just reflect but learn and act on it. My parents survived the Holodomor, slave labor, concentration camps. One day when helping mom with cooking she said (I will never forget) 'You will never go hungry because I taught you how to eat if you only have 1 potato and maybe an onion or an apple or some kind of root'. As for my dad he taught me the correct way to eat grass and trees.
I have fond memories of my great grandfather telling us as children how the family lost darn near everything they had but the house was paid off and he still had a job (RR) and they raised their own vegetables and hunted for most meat but it was very scarce due to hungry people and they couldn’t raise a chicken due to thieves (they watched many a thief steal a chicken and actually confronted a few and said if you had the courtesy to ask they would have provided them with a few eggs and some vegetables that would last longer. Everyone felt sorry for everyone and he had a saying something like “the depression brought the real men to the forefront and the lazy succumbed”

These people were very close to the ways of self reliance and moral uprightness. This time, there will be blood in the streets.
Coming soon to a city near you.
What I wouldn’t give to go back to that lifestyle
I think we can Uber what you actually mean but be careful what you wish for
Anyway, nothing at all is stopping you, pack up and head out, there is a lot of land out there.
