Yea knowing who Alice Cooper is now, it is a possibility this was done to bring attention to it rather than him participating. The Album 'Alice Cooper Goes to Hell' could be a lamentation of what was forced upon him. He also has a song called 'Welcome to my Nightmare'.

Also possible that he did participate but the fact is, at least publicly, he is now a Patriot that has devoted his life to God. He has a studio in his house and does a syndicated radio show on Sunday nights, I think. If your old enough think King Biscuit Flower Hour. It is in a similar vein. I believe he has broken free of the control mechanisms.

Weird personal note: My cousin scared the hell out of me when I was a lad reading Alice's bedtime story printed on the inside cover of 'Goes to Hell'.
