There are Galaxy's 5 million light years across that are lifeless. Why??? because while the average temp of the Milky way is below freezing, the stars in these Galaxies are so densely packed together that all the radiation makes the avg temperature higher than the melting point of lead. that old canard about "so many stars is a waste, wink, wink" is misleading.
