Restaurants are targeted in particular--remember the gas stove targeting? Remember lockdowns? Marxists hate the middle class.

The reason why they want to eliminate cash is because that is how many of these shops stay open. Handling merchant fees for small purchases is hard on small business owners which is why some have minimum spending fees when using plastic.
