Think about what happened in Hawaii this past summer....lots of burned out houses and curious non-touched structures next to the ashes. High intensity laser beams coming down from the sky. These should put a fear into our enemies letting them know we can reach out and touch them from the sky and they cannot do a thing to stop it. More effective than a missle which could malfunction or be shot down. Plus it leaves the landscape relatively intact, without nuclear fallout.
