The human brain cannot, ever, fully understand God (or plenty of other things, just as a blind-from-birth person cannot fully understand the colors green or red). We have to stretch our minds, imo, to get even a sense of the truth.
Here's Jesus on the subject of where God, or rather Heaven -- sometimes called the kingdom of god -- resides:
Luke: 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
I keep bringing that verse up because it has helped me overcome my childhood cynicism about religion generally -- and because it points out that (like His emphasis on compassion and love) Jesus' ministry was as much about THIS life as about anything after.
