Everyone who has looked knows it has pagan roots. It’s not hard to find. There are mainstream pastors will talk about it openly on occasion.
From there, there are two camps:
those who say we’ve removed the paganism from the celebration and made it righteous
forgive my bias, which is going to be clear here, but those who acknowledge that we are commanded to not worship God as the pagans do
If you look up anything about Paganism, you will see that the first point has definitely not been done. More than that, how are we able to make things righteous? That’s not our jurisdiction.
It is also my personal opinion that it is a far bigger concern that we do not observe the biblical feasts, than it is that there is error in the observation of one we decided to observe.
