While I would never put it so harshly as women have tremendous value in their own roles as given by Christ. There is still historical evidence and stats to show why the modern era has crumbled like it has due in part to the over influence of weakness of woman in authority not standing up for whats right, but instead giving into emotion instead of reality. Is a sad truth.

There's more to it if you want to learn more about it. The way it's been explained to me is: You ask your parents or friends to pray for you right, it's exactly the same, as that, they ask those saints and the Theotokos to pray for them.
