Speaking of the Society’s contributions to geophysics, Fordham’s Rose Hill campus has one of the world’s first long period pendulum seismographs.
Way back when, I always wondered how much the ‘B’ and ‘D’ trains interfered with it. Nowadays, modern digital signal processing would pretty much eliminate such interference.
