They accept Jesus? This is the part of Christianity that bugs me. Jesus isn’t someone or something you accept. You repent of your own will and submit to Jesus. I accept that the chiefs will not win a super bowl this year but I am not going to submit my life to the chiefs. There is nothing worse than someone repeating the magical prayer and then living their life as if nothing changed. Believing is the key. But repentance is not turning from your sin or else it would be a work that you yourself did. Repentance is turning from your own will and submitting to the will of Christ. It’s a moment where you give up and give in. No work involved in this. I hope all 51,000 truly got born again but the truth is only a few probably did. I accept that joe Biden is the president but I in no way will submit to his lordship.
Yeah, Breitbart changed the words of what the organization reported. Their Ministry Impact statement (here's 2022's) says there were 52K or so "Faith Decisions", which means athletes / coaches that signed up on a system that provides resources. Then it tracks how many bibles they distribute, how many camps they held, etc. So you're right, this is not about "accepting Jesus", but about numbers that the Board of Directors can advertise and hope for fundraising.
