More than 300 million people in the US and Canada face the growing possibility of electricity shortages beginning as early as 2024 and continuing to 2028.
According to the report, one of the biggest factors (aside from tech and EV consumption) contributing to "high risk" areas (mostly the mid west) is man made --- they are retiring energy producing plants without having replacement power generators in place.
