This might actually be why the govt under everyone else but Trump just let the VA get worse and worse. I never thought about it until I read your idea, but it makes complete sense now. If the govt destroys the VA they could absolutely turn all of the hospitals into civilian hospitals for a new govt healthcare. Then they could finish what they started with obamacare - force everyone to be on govt healthcare with zero choices and death panels. Far-fetched? Who knows...
