Bah, 1/1000 @ 4 bucks per is 4,000, thats close to double the price of gold currently. Sweet spot for both gold and silver is 1 oz. Larger size only saves a small amount and smaller sized the premiums are too high.
If you want barter size buy 1 oz silver, the junk silver has too high of premium and you will get that as change for your 1 oz silver anyways.
Goldbacks are comfort food because we have become so used to paper money.
I have silver too - I agree itβs great for carrying around in lower denominations in a crisis. These lower denominations of gold will be similar & a little lighter in the pockets if theyβre in Goldbacks, so Iβll be investing in both.
Yeah, I have only been stacking since last May not counting an oz of placer gold. I'm keeping my bank account low. I bought some of my stack via 0%APR across 3 credit cards and am focusing on paying them off before the 0% runs out. After that I'm going to pay our rent ahead, so I won't be buying anything else for my stack.
The Goldbacks may indeed be where we end up, they are the smallest fractional gold.
The Debt clock leads me to believe that money will be backed by all kinds of commodities.
