The irony of that being you can't enjoy the things that make Hawaii famous in a bunker. It'd be like paying extra for a room with a view and keeping the curtains drawn the whole time, just wasteful.
Maybe it's the isolation thing?? I mean it IS out in the middle of the ocean. I get what you're saying, but there's more to it than just the island beauty. And it's not like price is an issue.
Wasn't there talk of some wealthy people trying to buy Nauru? There's nothing there but phosphate mines and desolation. However, it is remote, and isolated. What do they want the isolation from?
The only thing I can think of is the hardness of the rock and access to heat. Otherwise it's terrible for nuclear radiation because of all the winds crossing through that area both ways depending on the season.
