I speak Danish and yes she sounds very sad in her tone. Usually she’s a bit more cheerful in her new years speech but this was straight up depressing. Sounded like defeat. I’m really surprised by this because no Dane would have thought she would ever step down as the question was raised many times over the years and she always claimed she would follow tradition and stay on the throne until she hit the grave.
