I actually heard one of these about 10 yrs ago in Nashville. They are called ice quakes. Or that is the excuse given. Sounds like an explosion, set off car alarms. Also about 10 yrs ago this was really making news nationally. Linda Moulton Howe discussed them in detail and also weird noises like trumpets
